Another way of producing a compelling piece of comic art is to tap into a network. People might be surprised to find that there are some steadfast comic book and graphic art associations around the world, some of which are located stateside. It’s not a bad idea to comb through regional and state-level associations, either. That way, networking with other artists and enthusiasts might be more accessible and frequent than an annual meet-up like Comic-con. However, those yearly conventions are nothing short of amazing and are definitely worth a trip, if possible.
There are also online groups and forums that creators can use to connect with other industry talent, both known and unknown. The comic book community is bigger than one might think and the power of networking should not be underestimated.

Comic book creators are an innovative lot who have been finding ways to get their masterpieces out into the public for decades. Thanks to various online spaces and publishing tools, there are no shortages of different avenues for people to create their own comic books. Persistence is key, however. Although comic books sales slipped by seven percent in 2023, it is still a billion-dollar industry with plenty of room for its talented creators.
