After a long hectic workday, you are all ready to say goodbye to the daily fatigue and enjoy some me-time with your favorite show and comfort food. As your favorite show reaches its climax and the hero is about to kill the villain, the buffering demon takes over.

    Frustrating, isn’t it?

Happens to everyone, you might think. It is a tale as old as time. Well, it only happens if you do not have reliable internet like Xfinity and its affordable Xfinity Internet Plans. Generally, when you opt for a good internet connection, the company offers full home layout planning where they install internet for even distribution of signals. However, if you are facing signal issues, then fear not, as we have a solution to your problems.

In our modern homes, where everything is smart and automated, thick walls conceal our secrets and internet signals dance like an invisible ghost lies the most feared threat – the dead signal zone. Feared by the residents and devices alike, no one wants their devices to be in the dead signal zone.

How to Kill the No Signal Zone?

Before you give up on your lousy internet, here is everything that can help you resolve the no-signal zone issue.

    Diagnosing the dead signal zone

One of the biggest misconceptions is that a dead zone will push your device into buffering every few minutes. Well, this might be right but in some cases, internet signals will show a drop significantly and your device will stop picking up the signals entirely. Before you start waving your device in the far way corners of your home to detect the dead signal zone, here are some of the simple ways that can help you with the diagnosis.

    • One of the simplest ways to detect a dead signal zone is to connect the Wi-Fi and notice the signal strength.
    • Another fun way is to watch videos and move around in your home. This might take some time because there is a loading delay, so take your time as you move around.
    • You can also find signal-picking devices from any tech shop around you, the results are quite accurate but you might end up paying a little more.

Now that you have detected the weak signals, it is time to resolve the issue. Here are the top five ways to make the most out of your home Wi-Fi:

    Readjust the Layout

Layout before setting your router is one of the most important steps. In case you have missed this step while setting up your router, you will face issues with the signals. A simple solution is to ensure that your router is placed in the middle of the home, preferably in the living room so, the signals are evenly distributed.

    Use Signal Extenders

In case you have already placed your router in the middle of the home but the signals are not strong enough because of the obstacles, use signal repeaters and extenders. These small devices will help amplify the strength of the signals so you can enjoy seamless internet regardless of your location.

While choosing a signal extender make sure that it is fully compatible with the ISP and the router version. Signal extenders are ideal for big homes or extending signals into gardens or other dead signal zones.

    Identify and Remove Obstacles

Identifying obstacles is one of the most important steps in resolving the dead signal zone. Internet signals can easily penetrate through walls, however, every time they cross any obstacle, their strength decreases. While most people think that home structure is to blame, there is no way you can adjust the structure of your home.

To resolve this issue, you have either to adjust the layout, remove obstacles, or just move the router closer to the device. Generally, thick walls, opaque objects, or unnecessary devices and metal objects are considered the biggest issue, so try to reposition these things.

Keep the Router Away From TV

Generally, people place their router in the living room, which is an obvious choice considering the living room is indeed the center of the home. However, if you have other devices like microwaves, TVs, or other signal-based devices placed near your router, you should remove them right away.

FYI: Older models of TV are considered an issue so if you have something latest, there is no need to reposition.

    Seek a Simple Wireless Channel

Most people do not talk about network congestion but they are real. In some cases, access points are overwhelmed because of too many connections simultaneously. To resolve these congested points, add some extra access points so you can enjoy seamless internet.

    Wrap Up

Although the above-mentioned tips can help you resolve the dead signal zone issue, however, if you are still facing the same issue, even after adjusting everything, you should contact the tech department of your internet service provider.
